  • CODA

    love it, deserved best picture & deserved best supporting.

    this shit his me so hard the acting amazing everything about it.

    2 things tho;
    1. i wasn’t a fan of the teacher and i felt like he was becoming a stereotype at times but in the target pride month vibe or maybe he just got in my nerves
    2. the audition process was far from accurate, she was 30 mins late, didn’t have sheet music, teacher plays for her, her parents go into the audition room, and she get in?!

  • Turning Red

    Turning Red

    new favorite animated pixar movie.

    first… too fucking relatable. from my directioner heart to my desperate need for parental validation. this was just so good idk how to explain it. finally a “weird” main character who actually has friends. i loved not just the accurate representation of the Asian culture of growing up, but the representation and diversity within her school and friend group. it was just very comforting to see represented.

    second, this did take a very different turn…

  • CODA

    This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    simply i fucking loved this movie, the acting and storyline were amazing. i specifically adored the representation and the fact that the actors portraying the family were all actually hearing-impaired. her relationship with her family hit a core for me.

    the half star off is due to the ending. it was a very story wise amazing ending, it just slightly bothered me the lack of accuracy of the audition because it was cheesy, but that’s my lil acting major self. however did serve as a very good ending.
