Wow, that was awful. It was just pure misery. She gets abandoned, used, abused and then put on trial and ridiculed. It’s just 2 hours of sad with some birds and sex mixed in. And it feels really disingenuous. The birds are CGI, the leads are all gorgeous and clean with perfect teeth and hair. It’s a swamp free of snakes, chiggers, mosquitoes, and sunburn so the end conclusion that “there is no morality in nature” or whatever isn’t foreshadowed in the glossy Hollywood swamp. I kind of hated it. It’s trying to be The Notebook so it’s more about looking pretty and majestic than being honest.
