Joe’s review published on Letterboxd:
Death-defying stunts and fights like only the Thai film industry can bring you, but another thing I love about this is how Prachya Pinkaew is actually committed to the themes of this story, not just as an excuse for ass-kicking.
But that ass-kicking is pretty damn good regardless. I've been interested in the idea of a martial artist who can replicate opponents' styles by looking at them in action for a while, and Yanin Vismitananda (in addition to her other strengths) does a great job conveying this on screen. My favorite part is probably the fight in the ice factory, with Vismitananda doing a perfect Bruce Lee impersonation.
I think Thai martial arts movies might be my favorite martial arts movies.
