Some of the reviews about how sharp or chaotic evil Sondheim supposedly is here (and obviously those comments are coming from a place of great affection) make me wonder if they’ve ever truly had to deal with an a-hole boss before. Because I will take getting drilled over how to properly say “bubi” all day every day over, say, one more administrator’s “team work makes the dream work” followed by an hour long monologue about their beach house.
Even though TCM2 isn’t as fallen from the sky perfect as the original, I love it just as much. It’s as right for ‘86 as TCM was for ‘74. It’s Cannon so it’s coked up to the gills but Hooper still has a lot on his mind with this movie and the way the breakdown of society was being repackaged and glossed over in the new corporate age.
Also, one of the best casts of any 80s horror flick. Also also, “Dog will hunt!”
