much like billy eichner, this one's dead behind the eyes. critics and audiences alike are being too kind... or perhaps not discerning enough... from a production standpoint alone, it's practically unforgivable — the dead air in practically every scene, the distracting editing, the "go girl give us nothing" credits... like did nobody have fun doing this? nicholas stoller acting like he's some anonymous hired gun on a job he doesn't particularly want when he was the one who wanted to direct a gay romcom in the first place... it's so lackluster i think it's offensive. billy eichner who once called rock hudson a "closeted dead guy" when he didn't make the EW pride cover wrote a movie about how he's the most unique most lovable little boy in the world and how queer stories are important but this mf didn't tell a story at all 😭 nobody is a real person there is no real plot people are just telling each other their feelings but i do not believe anyone is feeling anything... we certainly are not feeling Joy... orville peck's needle drop in this further proves he's a fucking sellout. remember when billy was like "they released two movies about a talking hedgehog before they released a gay movie" like i wish i were seeing sonic 2 instead of this... this made me reconsider every movie from this year i've hated... i definitely would rather have been watching DWD and honestly bodies bodies bodies again. it is so crazy to me what we're now deeming acceptable. i cannot believe he said this is a movie for adults... like which part?
