Castaway on the Moon

Castaway on the Moon ★★★★

Another fine example there's so much more quality to Korean movies than just the revenge-flicks, gore and brutality they've got most acclaim for this century...

Castaway on the Moon is a unique tale spun somewhere between Robinson Crusoe and Amelie, with well acted characters we care about and a disarming sense of humor.

Whimsy without dwelling in it, profound without the philosophy class, and --sadly-- a bit formulaic in a few of its choices. It's all in all a nice combination of entertainment and food for thought, and that's never a bad combination. I even suspect it might grow on me next time around...

Castaway on the Moon was watched to check it off my TOTAGA-list.
