This is the first Saw movie I’ve ever seen! :)

Sure the gore was extreme and shocking, but I thought the plot was surprisingly gripping and emotionally compelling! The tension throughout is great, especially in the third act, and it’s easy to see why John Kramer is such a fascinating horror movie character. He’s played brilliantly by Tobin Bell, and has a compelling storyline that’s clearly been worth following over the years. But still, goddamn! He is one satisfyingly cruel son of a bitch.

A certified action movie classic. I’ll never forget seeing this for the first time at 10 years old, and being blown away by the action, nearly every set-piece, the music, and even the small moments of physical comedy from Tom Cruise. Sure, the Burj Khalifa scene is incredible, but how about that amazing opening prison break scene? Or the Kremlin heist? Or the final battle in the parking garage?

This whole movie is Brad Bird, Michael Giacchino, and Tom Cruise at the top of the game. Pure lightning of the bottle action entertainment.

I kept needing to go to the bathroom, and waited for a boring or uninteresting scene. The thing is… there was no such scene.

Anyone questioning James Cameron as the GOAT of epic blockbuster filmmaking needs to check their heads at the door. He deserves all the credit for bringing these films together, and assembling an extremely talented team of FX artists, composers, and storytellers to help make it all possible.
This franchise will probably be his Lord of the Rings. Out of this world good!

    Final line from this movie:
“You know where you can touch a girl that will always make her come?
    Her heart.”
