I have recently been hating most Marvel films, I did like the first Guardians film, but not the second. I liked the third entry a lot. Hell, it may be my favorite Marvel movie. The soundtrack kicks ass, as is now a staple of the Guardians film trilogy. Where the film really elevates itself from the rest are the things it does for Rocket Raccoon, which is an emotional and extremely well realized storyline. It does kind of turn into…

This film could have easily been 30 minutes shorter. With that said, the special effects are mostly good, with only the occasional obvious green screen. The characters are lacking, as is expected from the dooms day genre of film. Overall I had fun, certainly a better blockbuster than a lot of Marvel or DC films, but I can't in good conscience recommend it, as it is pretty mediocre.

I thought the first Shazam was funny and charming, I found this one to be the opposite. Riddled with product placement (especially with Skittles). The special effects were at times laughably bad. None of the jokes landed for me. I would recommend skipping this one.

After watching Chungking Express and loving it I decided to watch another Kar-Wai Wong film. This film is beautiful, every frame feels like a stanza in the directors poem. All the characters leave so much unsaid, which is always wonderful. Every song feels purposefully placed, as if the director is telling you something through background music. Every actor is perfectly in tune with the other, the main actors chemistry is some of the best I've ever seen. Films as good as this are rare, I highly recommend checking it out.

The concept of this film is great, more a supernatural slasher than your regular zombie joint. The practical effects are amazing, and Fulci's direction is great. The issue with this one for me came to the last 20 minutes, which I found incredibly underwhelming. Otherwise this one is pretty good, I recommend it.
