A masterwork in storytelling. An epic tale through and through, boasting a lore so rich and imaginative it actually scares me. The intended message is simple, but its delivery is jaw-droppingly refined. Lifting the quality even higher are its bewitching combination of visuals and music, the wonderful, lively characters and one of the most uncanny yet ingenious depiction of a magical forest I've ever seen. (Moss covered rocks - shy weeds swaying in unison underwater - gateways to another world - I am reminded of Tarkovsky once again.) My favorite? Lady Eboshi. Cool, complex and oh boy do I love that ridiculous laugh.
"I'm going to show you how to kill a God." What a Queen.
