  real sleaze-o tone with bizarre comedy (dude gets a dildo pulled out his butt to a cartoon POP! wonderful) and quite an amazing special effect on the fetus monster but also there's lots of stretches of this where it's just annoying people being very annoying! I saw reviews that said this and thought to myself "that usually doesn't bother me, I don't have to like the people in a movie, shrug" and then it happened and IT DID bother me.

  truly a shrug of a movie. a pretty good cast wasted, though I did enjoy Del Toro obsessing over a kitchen sink faucet.
