Yarjka’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m always surprised by how immersive this movie is. I start it thinking I’ll have something else to do but I end up watching the whole thing and now it’s nearly midnight and I’ve done none of the work I planned to do for the night. That’s cinema!
I’m not a huge fan of the story or even the characters, but the lines are well written and delivered with a lot of zest, the shots are perfectly staged, and the score is gorgeous.
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t familiar with this movie. I’ve seen too many scenes from it too many times. I’m actually not sure if I’ve seen the sequels, though, so I should probably get on that.
