"You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one!" ⭐️
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is a masterpiece because it has all the comedy and action to satisfy a broad audience but it really tells a simple story. I love Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End yet they are so complex and they somewhat miss what made this movie so good. It is a simple rescue mission type story with twists and turns from the protagonist and antagonist being sneaky.
Jack Sparrow is one of my favorite characters of all time and this is by far his best appearance. He is so perfect due to him always having each situation under control while acting like a circus clown on the outside. They wrote him brilliantly. Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley aren’t great but I do enjoy them in the supporting roles. Geoffrey Rush can also get overlooked as one of the best villains of all time in Barbossa. Barbossa is kind of the worst yet he is so charming and charismatic you can’t help but love him.
This movie just jumps from plot point to plot point still feeling cohesive throughout. They made a fast moving story with tons of action that will never get old. When it comes to a crowd pleasing action film, it’s hard to get better than this. The characters are unique, the comedy is on point, and the action is very dynamic. One of my favorites of all time for very good reason, it’s almost perfect.
