Daniel Kibbe’s review published on Letterboxd:
A film that thrives on excess; an unnecessary affair that plays on the far end of extremity. The result is poor. Little substance, intense visuals, and graphic violence does not make or a good film, nor an entertaining one. In trying to be crazy and unique, I Saw the Devil succumbs to the banality of Korean ultra-violence cult films in a similar vein of Oldboy. Here, only shock value exists. Avoid.
