Fear Street: 1666

Fear Street: 1666 ★★★

I liked this just a little less than the 2nd film. However, it was a very solid film. This was one of the weirdest trilogies I’ve seen where the first film was a complete dud and the second and third were actually good.

I find myself enjoying the flashbacks (1978 and 1666) more than the present day (1994). I personally wanted each time period to have their own lead actress but it didn’t work out that way. Doing it this way worked out though. Kiana Madeira was pretty great in this new role over her 1994 role which I didn’t care for.

Overall, it was a fun mix of horror and dark comedy that kept he hooked from the 2nd movie on.

Unfortunately, there were some bad story choices and clunky lines throughout. If this trilogy had a few more revisions, it would’ve been one of the great ones. For now, it sits somewhere between okay and good for me.
