Totally forgot to review this last week, but as a legacy sequel that was not in any way necessary to be made I was really pleasantly surprised by this one. It can't hold a candle to the original of course and some of the gags here definitely fall a bit flat, but it's delightful and certainly captures the charm of what makes that first film a special one. Peter Billingsley reprises his iconic role to pretty great effect and the supporting cast is really enjoyable here as well (how is the lovely Erinn Hayes not a bigger star?). The nostalgic bait actually works well and it will certainly get you in the holiday spirit.
