I highly regret not seeing The Woman King in theaters. Now that I have seen it, I can safely say that this is one of the best movies of 2022. This is such a powerful film that features an excellent cast led by Viola Davis, who is magnificent, and I hope she deserves some love at the Oscars. The rest of the cast was also terrific, including Hero Fiennes Tiffin. Guess what? He was actually really good. I forget about those After movies every time he appears on screen. The action sequences were incredibly well shot, and the costume designs are great too. The score is incredible, and it should get some award recognition as well. With her direction on character-driven dramas, Gina Prince-Bythewood really exhibits her impressive talent for getting standout performances. The Woman King is one of the best movies of the year, and I cannot recommend it enough!
