Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings undoubtedly shines brightly in comparison to Black Widow, and for many reasons. Marvel continues to break barriers in the character development department, with Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) barreling into the limelight with good cause. This is the first “new” character in the Marvel universe that I am genuinely excited about. The predominately-Asian cast performed brilliantly, and the Chinese culture sprinkled throughout the course of the movie gave it an entirely new feel in comparison to other Marvel films. At one point during my viewing of Shang-Chi, I thought to myself, “Wow, this hardly feels like a Marvel film, but in the best possible way.” For any Marvel fans, old or new, Shang-Chi is a must watch in my book.
