i would be lying if i said that the roar in the post credits didn’t give me chills i mean fuckkkkk.
overall, it’s fine. the first act worked really well and it was stronger than i remembered, but then the second and third act turn into exposition dump and mindless action. that doesn’t mean it isn’t entertaining and that i didn’t like the film, it’s fine for what it is but this is my 6th or 7th time watching this where i’ve managed to get past the 45 minute mark and actually finish the film. some of the creatures, direction & cinematography are all pretty solid. they also executed Kong’s humanity pretty well, he isn’t just one angry ape as i thought he was. thin characters didn’t really bother me, i wanted to see most of them get crushed.
might re-check out the other 2 instalments in the franchise before the release of Godzilla Vs. Kong. my moneys on Kong, not due to strength, but he seems like a decent creature.
