It’s a scream, baby! Before jumping into the review I will say that I have a soft spot for legacy sequels, and The Scream franchise, however this movie fucking rocks. The biggest problem this film has is it’s not directed by Wes Craven. Yet I still think it looks pretty good, although it looks like they cut one of the better shots from the trailer which I find funny. There’s a reveal about the location that characters are in and the way that scene was shot was fucking dope. Moving on though the best part about this movie is the cast. Seriously they all do a fantastic job with my favourite performances coming from Jack Quaid, David Arquette, and Jenna Ortega. I think what some people’s enjoyment of this film will come down to is how much you like or dislike the meta commentary and the jokes that come along with it. I think it works wonderfully and the elevated horror bit was hilarious.
