Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once ★★★★

I’m so late to the party on this one but yeah what the Daniels did here is some of the most impressive filmmaking we’ll likely ever see and it’s nothing short of an astounding achievement. And with nearly every absurdist idea they chuck into this movie working flawlessly it would be cruel of me to give this any less than a great rating but I do feel the film is way at its best when it is just this giant piece of crazy absurdist auteurist work. The Daniels are great as I’ve established but their thematic exploration of generational trauma and Nihilism vs Optimism is tik tok level at best and comes off droll, but I will say that their way of presenting these themes are never not entertaining. A great film for sure, both overrated and over-hated by a soulless little corner of the internet called film twitter.
