  • Scream 4

    Scream 4

looking camp right in the eye

  • The Town

    The Town

how am i supposed to focus on this movie when i'm trying to focus on jon hamm and ben affleck double-teaming me

  • Dune

Hard to understand as someone who's never read the novel, but nonetheless an epic adventure.

  • Raya and the Last Dragon

    Raya and the Last Dragon

Solid adventure, heist film. I enjoyed the animation quickly describing the history of the Kumandra world. There was a lot of heart and love behind the characters.

-0.5 stars for not fully explaining how the broken gem brought back all the dragons despite dragons not coming back the first time
-0.5 stars for not showing what happened to the gem/if there still is a gem
-0.5 stars for minor plot conveniences

Still a great, emotional film obviously good for the family.

  • Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Best Indiana Jones film by far, albeit some problems.
-0.5 stars for Sean Connery's acting after thinking his son died.
-0.5 stars for the final third of the film. Kinda weak payoff.
    -0.5 stars for Nazis.

  • Cruella

A solid entry to the Disney live-action list.
The story of Cruella De Vil is iconic - and the prequel to this storyline was nothing short of immersive.
The costumes, makeup, and production design took you into the 70s punk London scene - it was incredible.
If this doesn’t win Best Costume Design at the Oscars, I don’t know what could.
I have a few issues with the film - first, I didn’t like how the film didn’t go all…

  • Run

Unexpected, great thriller especially only really using two locations. Paulson and Allen give awesome performances and I'm glad they casted an actress with a disability.

It could've cut out the last scene - I really didn't need to see Sarah Paulson looking like the grandma in the wheelchair from Spongebob.

  • Those Who Wish Me Dead

    Those Who Wish Me Dead

A wonderful reminder of how Angelina Jolie came to be such a renowned action star.

  • Pieces of a Woman

    Pieces of a Woman

The bridge metaphor and the ending was a bit cheap but the story, the acting (!!!) and the emotion were all so high. Vanessa Kirby’s performance stitched this film together. Ellen Burstyn’s monologue to begin the third act was tear-jerking. I really enjoyed the film and it kept me on the edge of my couch, which is rare for a drama.

  • Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

    Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

Infinitely funnier than the first film, screenplay has wit, and the acting is worth a viewing.

  • Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

    Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

Definitely works a lot better as a play than a film - but god Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman steal every. fucking. scene. Superb acting all around, all throughout the film. I loved seeing Viola as Ma, what an amazing actress.

  • Let Them All Talk

    Let Them All Talk

Lucas Hedges, Karen may not love you, but I...I will!!
