• The Little Mermaid

    The Little Mermaid

    ★★★★½

The Little Mermaid is a near-perfect rendition of the classic fairytale. Probably better than it? Don’t think the original was that great to begin with…

Prince Eric actually has a story arc, Under the Sea and Poor Unfortunate Souls are breathtaking. Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy and Daveed Diggs are all phenomenal in their roles. The new ending is actually visually stunning and doesn’t take away from the original. Ariel and Eric's bond over adventure is a breath of fresh air.…

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

    ★★★

I feel like everyone is raving over this but I walked out like "meh."

Obviously better than Vol. 2 but I don't think Vol. 1 can be topped. That's top tier Marvel.

The way Marvel hasn't had an exceptional film in 5 years now...Shang-Chi is pretty good though.

  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie

    The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Completely unwatchable. Infinite easter eggs does not make a movie good, sorry.

The best part of this movie is when cat Mario did biscuits on Donkey Kong’s back.

  • Beau Is Afraid

    Beau Is Afraid

    ★½

Beau is Afraid is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Shocking just to be shocking, ambiguity to the point of utter confusion, and no real standout performances. Patti Lupone is fine but a very, very minor role and the animation was pretty cool.

There were 4 other people in the theater, and we were talking after it. I said “how do you go from Midsommar to this”, and they all instantly agreed. One of the ladies…

    ★★★½

I would arrive to a Dennis Muilenburg public execution

  • MH370: The Plane That Disappeared

    MH370: The Plane That Disappeared

Obviously an interesting story because who the hell knows what happened. However, I'm sure people are leaving more confused than when they began watching. Why give a platform to conspiracy theorists and/or unreliable people?

The scariest thing about the "docuseries" is letting people know you can get into a control room within an airplane under the carpet in first class. Is this true? Who knows, because this piece is hardly journalism.

  • Elvis

    Elvis

    ★★

Yeah, this movie is just not good. The hectic editing, the random contemporary score despite this being a film of the 50s and 60s, and how dreadful Tom Hanks is in this...
It's unfortunate for Butler, because he really became Elvis during that Christmas special. I was super impressed.

Never have been a fan of Spielberg's work, but this might be his magnum opus.
