Fear Street: 1666

Fear Street: 1666 ★★★★

This is the film that makes this trilogy something more than a throwaway batch of Netflix knock-off slasher films. It elevates the previous two films by adding a deeper meaning to the seemingly mindless killing. In a way, it's successful in a way that most trilogies aren't - the films get progressively stronger instead of weaker.

These films SHOULD be watched in close succession to fully soak in the way the filmmakers utilized actors in multiple roles. Watching them three weeks apart had me forgetting faces along the way - but the filmmakers do a solid job of providing enough flashbacks and recaps to remind about the critical details.

Overall some great period work in all three films, some solid acting, and absolutely gruesome violence (for those who enjoy that aspect of horror) - so definitely watch-worthy.
