Barbie 2023
this barbie is a hater! only 3 stars! i loved the practical sets 😍🤤 and the fits and how many people were wearing pink at the theater, but i left the movie feeling unsatisfied, mostly because i expect so much from greta, which happens to be 1 of the 7 messages this movie tackles—or rather, rattles off. the script was waaaaay too loosey goosey for me and how are you gonna make a barbie movie where the best part is ken? 🤔

it’s got impeccable production design and the best depiction of dream logic i’ve ever seen, but the runtime / what amounts out of the runtime is simply unforgivable. made me laugh a lot though! the o’loha tv dinner feels like a simpsons joke. it also made me scared! spent a lot of the movie thinking about schizophrenia and whether ari will be donating any profit$ to helping people who are living with similar interpretations of reality as Beau… Jackie Is Curious
