Who couldn't love this Christmas classic? We've got robbers, innocent little kids, and Joe Pesci, a combo that's sure to leave anyone laughing.

This one goes out to all my Gen-Z friends.

As a 30-something, I have only the mildest familiarity with what Five Nights at Freddy's is; a video game where you hide from decrepit animatronics is really the extent of my knowledge. So from that vantage point, yeah, this movie delivers!

This movie has it all! Street fights, damsels in distress, damsels kicking butt, gangs in facepaint, gangs in tophats, gangs in silk shirts, gangs in rollerskates. Man, this movie is WILD! Can ya dig?

What a delightful gem of a movie! It's primarily silent but doesn't skimp on the creepiness. Kaitlyn Deaver shines in this otherworldly creature feature. And boy, it is loaded with creatures: tall aliens, short aliens, even taller aliens. And on top of the jump scares and tense action, there are serious ruminations on life and death, loneliness and grief.

The score by Joseph Trapanese is banging. For being a mostly wordless movie, the music (and Kaitlyn Deaver) does a lot of the emotional lifting to great effect. It pulses and bleeps and bloops and swells and jolts and keeps the viewer glued to every moment.

Man this was FUCKING NUTS!!! The fact this didn’t get a cinema release should be a CRIMINAL OFFENSE (common, Boogeyman over this?) Searchlight Pictures have been absolutely killing it the last couple years! While there isn’t too much here that’ll blow your mind, the movie sure as FUCK makes it its SOLE mission to entertain the crap out of you, and boy does it, AND SOME.…
