2021 Criterion Challenge 14/52 (#14 - 1960s) -
Absurdly impressive as a debut feature with some incredible moments and a masterful control of tone. This is a very dark and sad film, with a blend of beautiful and terrifying surrealism in dream sequences and the stark inescapable reality of war. Hopefully this warmed me up a bit for my near future viewing of Come and See.
