I really liked this one! I like to see Marvel do more “small” time stories after 2018 and 2019 where it felt like everything had some grander meaning. Things like this, WandaVision and Loki (for the most part) were really low key and I really liked them, and this is no different. The action is some of the best in the franchise, the music is on point, and the characters are great. I think what is most effective is the world building. Both the story on earth and the other dimension feel fleshed out and make the movie better as a whole. And the family dynamic between the Shang Chi, his sister and his father works well and builds a good conflict.

I will admit, the movie somewhat feels like it’s tied together by exposition, who ch can be a problem. However it isn’t too bad, it just makes the overall movie falter as a whole. Also, the jokes range from clever to very unfunny, which can be a problem.

Still, I really liked this movie! It had a fun climax and I had a good time with it!

Final Score: 8.5/10

Final Recommendation: Check it out in theaters
