Isn't there something fishy in all our lives?
Unpopular opinion: Argento's "animal trilogy" repetes itself considerably when it comes to narrative structure. It's always a misterious murder, an unknown killer we know only by POV shots and an improbable detective.
Don't get me wrong, this movie is beautifully directed - unique styled shots and a jazz soundtrack that brings all that 70s swagger. The characters are fun and interesting, this one even has a curious gay theme. But behind that there is the same structure and that gets boring sometimes.
Perhaps I'm more a "supernatural horror" than a "giallo horror" type of girl, so I prefer the three mothers trilogy myself.
