The One and Only Ivan is a pretty typical family friendly Disney movie that is more than suitable for kids. Its pretty easy to tell what's coming with this Disney+ original featuring a bunch of talking animals. It has some cute moments and a good cast, but I never really found myself attached to any of the characters.
Bryan Cranston is the main human character as a ringleader of a circus inside a mall. It was nice to see Cranston playing a family friendly role post-Breaking Bad. We all know he's capable of it, but its nice to get the reminder. His role could be considered villainous, but you can tell the character has a bit of a heart too.
The animals are mostly brought to life with CGI and the designs actually look pretty good for a straight to streaming movie. It did take me a little while to get used to some of the voices for the animals. The arcs for the animals are pretty basic, but they're passable for a kids movie.
