Man, still the best horror film I've ever seen. It's absolutely off-putting how The Thing manages to be so disturbing, so utterly repulsive, and so horrifying even after all these years and after repeated viewings. I swear the practical effects in this film are the best of it's kind that I have seen, it's a shame they're not as common in modern film anymore. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 1991
With the singular exception of the three Lord of the Rings movies, Terminator 2 is probably my favorite film of all time behind the aforementioned LOTR films. Rewatching this masterpiece was, is, and always will be, a singularly cathartic, almost orgasmic experience for me. I know I dabble a lot in hyperbole, but for me personally, quite seriously, Terminator 2 is a fundamentally perfect movie.
