V. Lepistö’s review published on Letterboxd:
If Raiders of the Lost Ark was huge disappointment to me because of the nostalgic image I had of it in my head, about Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2 I really had no prejudices except that most of the criticism I've read has been negative and I can definitely understand that. This is old one but it was enough to joyously fulfill 2 hours and 16 minutes of my lazy and empty mood and I really couldn't ask more this evening. It is silly nonsensical mess but it has a good heart in it even if it walks very dangerously the line of good and bad taste - I might abhor the use of music in the film but I can't help but to love the characters. Usually superheroes have to learn the responsibility of their actions because of their power but these are just bunch of messed-up losers from different corners of universe and what they have to learn is how to act together. It's not unusual concept but Gunn has so much passion and love for his project that it feels very dear. On a different day I might have hated this but this evening it was all I really needed.
