Spencer ★★★★★

2021 | Kristen Stewart | Cinema 2022

“Oh, Maggie, it's all just a bit of fun, isn't it? Men. Husbands. Sex. Mistresses. Deceit. Succession. It's currency. That's all we are. I like nice things that are simple. Ordinary. But things that are real. You know, I really like things that are quite middle-class, unfashionable. I love Les Mis. I love Phantom of the Opera. I love fast food. I feel sorry for pheasants. There's no hope for me. Not with them.”

The second time it obviously wasn’t quite as intense and life destroying as the first time, but “Spencer” still is an incredibly haunting and hazy experience. One of the saddest films I’ve ever seen, and I again had wet eyes like every 10 minutes and cried. I think I can confidently say that Kristen Stewart’s performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Ever. And it’s just as safe to say that the ‘All I Need Is A Miracle’ scene is one of the best driving scenes in cinema history. And the score is absolutely magnificent and intense too.

“Spencer” is a masterpiece. Literally one of my all time favorite films and once again an incredible emotional and devastating experience.
