Prey was an entertaining, action filled monster movie that took itself very seriously and was devoid of any comedy whatsoever. The new Predator looked awesome with it's intimidating stature and bone mask while the North American landscape was photographed beautifully. It was a fun movie, but I don't think it was a very memorable experience except for one amazing scene that I'm going to spoil below because I need to gush over it.

Miracle Mile was a weird and interesting one. I'm not sure how much I enjoyed the film but it touches on so many genres, flowing between them so smoothly, that I was always interested in what was happening. Unfortunately, I don't think I ever fully trusted the film. I was very distracted by a growing worry that Miracle Mile was going to cop out on the ending and make it all a dream or something. More than just a film on a screen, Out of the Blue is a true work of passion by Dennis Hopper and the rest of the cast. The original project had fallen apart and Hopper stepped in to direct. He would hold morning sessions with the actors to create the dialogue and if an actor didn't show up to a session they wouldn't get any lines that day. This collaboration between director and actor helps to bring a heavy emotional weight to the film and makes Out of the Blue a very unique and expressive work of art.

More like planet of the body snatchers. I did not think this film was very good but it did do a lot of things well and layed some groundwork for future science fiction films. I actually thought most of the scenes on the alien planet were excellent. Filled with interesting colors and images, these scenes were often gripping and tense. It was that slow start that really bogged down the film for me. I didn't find it very moody or atmospheric. Just slow. That being said, every Bava movie has something unique to offer so I'm still happy I watched this.
