Strangers With Candy if it was remade for terminally-online babies who would watch Strangers With Candy and say it “hasn’t aged well”. Of course, any random single second of that show is funnier than this entire thing.

Rachel Sennott's mere existence is a poison to cinema and her current popularity feels like some sort of psyop...

Had a craving for another LA crime heater last night after wrapping up a rewatch of True Detective season 2 (which, btw, has always been better than season 1 and anyone who says otherwise is most likely a boring pseud)

A perfect film that could never be made today. Bill Murray's best performance, hands-down

Thematically one-dimensional with seemingly the flimsiest plot ever put to film…but it's entertaining enough despite the fact that I couldn't tell if it was earnestly attempting to posit the idea of moral absolutism—embarrassing and baby-brained if so. Great performances and atmosphere though. Also shoutout to Arlo from Justified showing up an hour in lol. Anybody who rated this 4 stars or higher would be objectively better off just watching The Shield like an actual adult (unlike Alonzo, Vic Mackey never did anything wrong imho, though Alonzo was not a villain so much as a martyr to himself, a tragic theme the film doesn't explore nearly enough)

I know that huffing recency bias hype is par for the course with online film discussion now but come on lmfao. So artificial and hollow—narratively, emotionally, visually—not to mention derivative and predictable. I'm not even a pathological cynic, this was just embarrassing.

This was much funnier than I anticipated it being. Fantastic fits, and all the food looked incredible...amazing ending too. Really just a great “less is more” film; the subject matter isn’t anything you haven’t seen before but it’s understated and naturalistic enough to never feel derivative. And Adèle Exarchopoulos is so insanely hot (as always)

I usually adore Nolan’s work but this left me quite disappointed. After the schizophrenic editing broke my immersion for the hundredth time within the first hour I was ready to check out. Can’t fault Jennifer Lame too hard because this thing is just overstuffed to shit. Either the entire last third should've been canned to better flesh out the preceding two or the film should’ve been twice the length. I think that Nolan's usually fantastic at tightly weaving a narrative…
