You can always trust Robert Eggers to have a vision. An absolutely immersive cinematic experience like no other and The Northman is no different. Is it his best? No. But man, to have The Northman be one of his lower ranked films is a real testament to Eggers skills as a director. It’s his most simple and approachable  movie, yet it’s filled with his hallucinogenic imagery and detailed historical accuracy. The Northman doesn’t stop moving as its drums beat and its men roar. Bloodshed has never been so visceral.
