This movie has a truly bizarre story, and I give it points for originality and overall weirdness. That said, it’s pretty cheesy and most of the acting isn’t great. Still, there is a fun time to be had here.

Ant-Man and the Wasp 2018
It’s lower stakes and lighter in tone than most of the MCU movies, but it’s fun.

Unbreakable 2000
This movie has such a simple premise, but it’s executed so masterfully. Samuel L. Jackson is great as always, and Bruce Willis does one his best, most subtle performances.
It doesn’t hurt that the cinematography is fantastic, and the score is another masterpiece by James Newton Howard.
I haven’t watched this in years, but it’s as good if not better than I remember. This and Signs represent M. Night Shyamalan’s best work in my opinion.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 2017
I alternate between 3.5 and 4 stars for this one, but today I really enjoyed it.

Star Wars 1977
Despecialized Edition - The only way to fly.
45 years ago, a group of talented and dedicated people came together and made movie magic.
After all the years, all the additional trilogies, all the spin-offs, and all the TV shows, this remains a one-of-a-kind experience.
If humans are still around in 10,000 years, they’ll still be talking about Star Wars. This shit will outlast the Bible!

The House of the Devil 2009
I really enjoyed the slow burn that is the first three quarters or so of this movie. It did a great job of building tension and dread with a “less is more” style of execution. And it really looks and feels like a movie from the late 70s or early 80s.
The conclusion wasn’t bad per se, but it happened so fast and with such a different tone than everything that came before it that it felt jarring to me. Still, one of the better horror movies I’ve seen in a while, and I definitely would recommend it.

Wrath of Man 2021
A solid heist / revenge film. Jason Statham is very good in this.
It’s pretty brutal at times, but it’s entertaining overall and definitely worth a watch.
-
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut 1999
This movie is still awesome. The songs are great, it’s funny, and it somehow seems even more relevant than it did in 1999.

The Emperor's New Groove 2000
Entertaining and funny, and we all learned a lesson about being selfish.
