Judas and the Black Messiah is a powerful, timely, and devastating look at a piece of history that's not talked about nearly enough. The Black Panther Party was a major political movement with rich stories and fascinating people to explore, and this film does a great job showcasing both of these in an engrossing and infuriating way. Shaka King's bold direction is very striking and heightens the intensity throughout the feature, and the performances are all outstanding. Daniel Kaluuya rightfully deserves all the praise he's been getting, for he delivers a raw and gut-wrenching performance as Fred Hampton, but Lakeith Stanfield also deserves just as much love and attention as well for his outstanding work here. Dominique Fishback also delivers an incredible performance in her supporting role as well. Some scenes are tough to watch, but this is one outstanding feature that's worth your attention.
