Really love how this portrays Hamlet as a suicidal outsider just trying to find anything in the world worthy of love and connection. A digital hellscape punctuated by murder, corruption and death. Fascinating stuff here and I really wish this got the love it deserves.

    “Higher, further, faster, baby.”

Just so good. Really didn’t like this when I first saw it, but coming back to it was the best thing I could’ve done. Not only does it represent a moment in the MCU when the director’s full vision shines through, but also acts as a phenomenal character study in the universe.

“I love you in every universe.”

So grateful for this thing. To see Raimi and his team make something this good for a franchise that has had its ups and downs is nothing short of a miracle. A brilliant showcase of grief, heroism, and how we can survive our traumas even when the world seems to be against us.

    “It was the Boogeyman.”

It seems to feel like light work when it comes to reviewing Carpenter’s Halloween ever since it’s release in 1978. The once relatively lesser known film has now become a piece of media history, not only for the horror genre, but film as a whole. This is one of the very best movies and a movie I’m ashamed to have just now seen.

To begin, this is a masterful exercise in patient tension and genuinely terrifying moments…
