Kevs’s review published on Letterboxd:
Representation, culture and original.
A necessary film created from the fantastic to teach history and show certain political-social discourses that claim many successes achieved for Afro culture. It is not a perfect film, but all the positive things make the things that are not convincing go unnoticed.
Viola Davis is POWERFUL, and she showed that she is capable of doing whatever she wants. Although I have a hard time seeing her nominated for an Oscar this year.
Sheila Atim, Lashana Lynch and Thuso Mbedu excellent warriors.
Not a minor fact, all the people in this movie are damn SEXY. Jordan Bolger without a shirt 🥵 and John Boyega with that huge body conquered me.
