The whole "based on a true story" is a silly bit of pretension, but asides from that I loved the movie. The acting is strong all around from beginning to end. The atmosphere and the scares are well earned at all times. I never felt angry from how the movie made me react, because it never felt like the movie was cheaply taking advantage of gimmicks that work even if there's nothing to be actually scared by. Loved the setting, loved the designs and miraculously enough, the child actors were never annoying.
