  it rained harder than i’ve seen in a long, long time today. the sky was ablaze with purple lightning, and my phone was screaming at me with the tornado warning ping. the sirens wailed in the distance, mixed with the sound of the water on the roof. such apocalyptic weather inspired me to watch this perpetually drenched and dour thriller. and while the weather of this film is just rain, it is thematically no less apocalyptic. by the end the storm was over, and we were left with what?
