TStevens1994’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is the first live action Disney remake that I haven’t either felt complete indifference towards, actively detested its existence, or avoided like the plague since ‘The Jungle Book’. I had great fun with this. Emma Stone and Emma Thompson were both good in the film and it kept me consistently entertained, as I didn’t feel it’s runtime at all. ‘Cruella’ has quite a lot of visual flare and I really enjoyed when the movie went a little weird or shifted tones, which happened a few times, and I honestly wish would have happened a little more (but it was still more unique than most of Disney’s recent output). The soundtrack was also really fun and kept the movie’s energy alive, with the use of the Rolling Stones and Iggy Pop being personal favourites.
Plus: I just really enjoyed seeing a movie in the cinema again.
