The Guilty

The Guilty ★★½

Broken people save broken people.

I guess if you're going to make a quarantine-restricted chamber piece with one character onscreen throughout, you could do a lot worse than having Jake Gyllenhaal as your guy. He puts on a pretty good performance here, but the logistics of him acting against voices at the other end of a phone really limits the ceiling on this as a movie. Tom Hardy did this a heck of a lot better in Locke. If you're looking for a one-man performance piece, head to that movie and Skip this one.

Streaming on Netflix.
