A satisfying, iconic end to a thoughtful samurai trilogy.

This conclusion did everything I hoped it would. It wrapped up the toxic love triangle arc in the best way it new how while also showing Musashi’s growth, not necessarily as a samurai in skill, but as a samurai at heart.

While is does push its runtime in some unnecessary ways, we get to settle with the characters more as they end their journeys. The final battle seems to be…

You ever just singlehandedly defeat an entire school of trained swordsmen and their master?

Musashi Miyamoto returns in what’s seemingly a more action heavy Samurai film. The first movie in this trilogy is about Takezo developing the skills and maturity of being not only a better person, but a worthy Samurai.

What this film does so brilliantly is it takes a warrior who’s so seasoned in their craft, and it faces them with the harsh reality that after all…

Wish I could’ve been the fly on the wall that got to see Rodriguez show Tarantino the screenplay for the first time.

A real hidden gem, and a Soderbergh hidden gem at that.

    Another Steven Soderbergh Experience

The films realistic small world approach is perfect. For the simplistic story happening here, Soderbergh’s direction is excellent. Of course it’s also accompanied by well casted first time actors who actually injected a lot of their real lives into the film.

Everything about Bubble is small-scale low-budget glory.

Was not expecting a full-fledged shootout at the end. Kind of gnarly. Overall a cool suspense flick from Hitchcock with some iconic moments.

Not quite the Hitchcock we’ve come to know yet, but he was getting there. Looking forward to seeing his remake of this in comparison.

I was in a toss up between giving this one 3 or 3 and a half stars, but ultimately I settled here after looking at some of the other movies I give the 3 and a half to. It’s a solid little thriller that’s worth a watch and it certainly comes with a nice twist that unfortunately most already know about.

It doesn’t do anything so incredible that I can rave about but it’s worth mentioning that a majority of the performances are really good. Nice seeing some familiar faces. Overall a cool courtroom drama that’s occasionally pretty clever.
