An exhausting look into obsession and depravity, based on one of the most infamous serial cases ever committed. Props to Fincher for really laying on the tense moments there towards the end (my anxiety notwithstanding). Almost everything about this is flawlessly executed, from the performances, editing, writing - it's all perfect. A true testament to that statement is Allen’s first interrogation scene, where I didn’t want to look away the whole time. And when you’re audience is just as invested in the closure our leads so desperately desire, I’d say you’ve done your job right and then some.
Needless to say, I just want to watch it again already.
