other flicks that remind me of Richard Kelly's masterpiece, Southland Tales

categorized by any number of things, weird audacious swings for the fences, alternate universe tales, world building either explicit or in the margins, technological paranoia, or just if the vibes feel right

not all of these movies are great, and they're definitely not all for everyone, but all of them in some way reminded me of Southland Tales. looking for suggestions as well!
