• Coming 2 America

    Coming 2 America

Most of the jokes fail to land and Eddie Murphy struggles to get back in to the character which made the first film such a classic. Story was terrible as well.

  • I Care a Lot

    I Care a Lot

Lots of bastard characters doing bastard things to each other. A really fun watch with Rosamund Pike on top form.

  • An American Werewolf in London

    An American Werewolf in London

Amazing practical effects, good humour & likeable characters, brilliant soundtrack. Pretty much loved everything about this film, even the abrupt ending worked well for me.

    The War with Grandpa

De Niro in recent comedies always seem to get mostly negative reviews but I find enjoyment in most of them. Predictable but harmless fun.

  • Deep Rising

    Deep Rising

This was a lot of fun. It’s filled with cheesy jokes and action, as well as giant sea creatures. It’s everything you’d expect from a 90s action film. I’d never heard of it until recently and now it’s a new favourite, highly recommend on Disney+ Star.

It’s a brave choice to tell this kind of story and although the cast are generally good it felt at times like the level of emotions should be a lot higher. It kept me intrigued all the way through but the ending was a bit of a strange choice. Think it works better if both of them get away or both get killed.

  • Run

Good little thriller with two great lead performances. The story is twisted and the pacing is great, all leading to a very satisfying end.

  • The Sandlot

    The Sandlot

I would think this is one of them films which nostalgia would play a big part in loving it.
I liked the characters, the setting and the choice of music. The stuff about the dog being massive was a bit ridiculous but the film was enjoyable enough overall, just not one that I connected with as well as I’d hoped to.

Masterpiece. What more can be said!

    Watched the Extended Other Edition

I like Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg in most things, including together in the two Daddy’s Home films. But this one is just not for me. It starts off decent, there’s a few decent laughs and some good good action scenes but once The Rock & Samuel L Jackson take a dive, so does the film. I have no idea what the story even is and the laughs pretty much dry up.

  • The Next Karate Kid

    The Next Karate Kid

I love the first Karate Kid film but for me Parts 2 & 3 were average at best.
Cobra Kai seasons 1-3 has come along now and it’s my favourite show of the last few years so I thought I’d check this film out in case any characters show up in the future.
I’d heard this was pretty terrible but I actually enjoyed it the most of the sequel films. Maybe a change of characters is what the films needed. Now…

    Shoot 'Em Up

If you want to see loads of over the top action, cheesy dialogue and carrot crunching then this is the film for you 🥕
