Bullitt ★★★★

The art of a true “car movie” is all but entirely lost, I can see that clearly now. The way you’re set into a universe with as many vehicle characters as human characters is goddamn wonderful, especially when it all takes place in 1968 and every single car, truck, and van on every ramp-like Los Angeles street is it’s own form of beautiful. ‘Bullitt’, despite its fairly regurgitated plot, doesn’t have a lot of competition in this film niche.

I hope one day to be 1/37th as cool as McQueen.
