Film #1 of Hoop-Tober 3.0
Scream is a rather interesting film. The pacing and the humour (and all the meta comments) are great, there's a strong and interesting heroine, it's a pretty solid slasher all in all. I wasn't really in love with the sound design, though to be fair, Halloween has probably ruined other films for me on that front.
I watched the Scream TV series before any of the original Scream franchise, and it was kind of an interesting experience seeing the original subject matter and picking up on all the references after the fact.
I'm actually pretty sure I got spoiled for this film at some point, but I'm great at forgetting spoilers, and I was never sure about the killer's identity until the end. It's always fun to be kept guessing, so extra points for that.
Basically, a solid start to a great Hoop-Tober. On to the next one!
