The French Dispatch

Each new Wes Anderson movie is a prize. I'd call the worst of them "good". Has the insult "zero effort" never applied less? Anderson refuses to half-ass anything. Every single shot in his movies is evidence of painstaking effort and care. He must love these movies. The sheer scale of this is breathtaking. So many tender, all too human moments. Is it any wonder the cast is so stacked? Actors must be killing one another for a chance to be in one of these. The likes of Christoph Waltz will take a three line role because these movies just might live forever, or as close as any movie gets to.
